Yesterday, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson visited Northern Public Service of New Hampshire's Schiller electricity generating plant. The plant uses wood to produce energy. Low grade bi-products of lumbering sites that has been trucked to this location, will be sent to a boiler for combustion that will create electric energy for public use. Richardson displayed interest in the plant, asking questions to the managers that took him on a tour. Later, in campaign stops elsewhere in the region, he touted the plant as an example of alternative energy development that government should be encouraging.
