Lt. Gen. Kennedy Visits Liberty House
Kennedy spent two days visiting veteran homes and stumping for New York Senator Hillary Clinton.
On such stop was at Manchester’s “Liberty House.”
According to a pamphlet, Liberty House’s mission is “to promote substance-free transitional housing, daily necessities, and services that enable homeless U.S. Military veterans to achieve self-sufficiency.” However, that mission might be short-lived because the house is in danger of losing funding which would require it to close its doors. The organization is currently attempting to find more money so they do not have to turn away homeless veterans, during the harsh winter months.
Kennedy, joined by State Representatives Eleanor Kgellman and Doreen Howard, toured the ten-person facility and spoke with staff members.
Staff members expressed their frustration about the bureaucratic system, lack of financial resources and a strain on current personnel and resources.
While taking copious notes, Kennedy quizzed staff members on their problems and even offered some advice.
Afterwards, the former Army Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, said that “we can’t afford, as a society, to turn away from this (the issue of homeless veterans).”
“What Liberty House needs is volunteers…and offer their help in writing grants, doing grant outreach, they need help with finances,” she said.
Kennedy added, “With that said, the short-term issue of financing this place from February on has not been solved.”
Before leaving, Kennedy said that she would write a report and give it to Clinton's senatorial staff.
Cellucci Praised Romney's Tax Record
Celluci, a former Republican Massachusetts governor, said that Romney's economic record is full of "pretty weak arguments from a governor who in four years really had no tax cuts for the people of Massachusetts."
Celluci made the comments following a Romney event, in which Romney attacked Rudy's record on the line-item veto and New York City's commuter tax.
During a stop in Bedford, the Romney campaign distributed a press release titled "Cellucci Has Praised Romney's Fiscal Responsibility."
The press release listed three quotes from Cellucci, who previously extolled Romney's tax record.
Cellucci said "Romney went in there saying he was going to hold the line of taxes and despite a lot of pressure to raise taxes, he hasn't." The former Canadian ambassador made the comments in a 2005 interview with The Hotline.
The release also had the lines, "On 2004, Cellucci Praised Romney For 'Holding The Line on Taxes" and "Last Year, Cellucci Said Massachusetts 'Has Done Pretty Well With Republican Governors" And That 'The Stake Has Been Driven Into The Heart of The Label Taxacusetts."
This recent attack on Cellucci came after the Romney camp released a statement called "HOW MAYOR GIULIANI WENT TO COURT AND KILLED THE PRESIDENTIAL LINE-ITEM VETO."

"I signed the Tax Pledge because I want everyone to know where I stand. We've got to get taxes down and grow our economy.
"I believe it's not fair that you have to pay taxes when you earn your money, when you save your money, and when you die.
"That's why I'll kill the death tax once and for all and roll back tax rates across the board.
"And savings? When I'm President, for every middle class American, the new tax rate on your interest, dividends, and capital gains will be absolutely zero.

Dodd Congratulates Lynch on SCHIP
From The Dodd Campaign:
Today, Presidential candidate Chris Dodd released the following statement congratulating New Hampshire for standing up to President Bush's SCHIP veto:
"I want to congratulate both Governor Lynch for standing up to President Bush and the people of New Hampshire who are gathering around the state to show their outrage at the President's severely misplaced priorities.
"With the resources it takes to execute just over 3 months of the Iraq War, we could fully fund the expansion of health care for needy children that Bush vetoed. This is just another reminder that this war is not only adversely affecting our security but also adversely affecting our other top priorities, and I'm happy to see so many people standing up to the President."

Clinton Releases Healthcare Ad, "Stand By Us"
Following is the script for the ad:
“Stand By Us”
Announcer:
Hillary stood up for universal health care when almost no one else would, and kept standing until six million kids had coverage.
She stood by Ground Zero workers who sacrificed their health after so many sacrificed their lives, and kept standing until this administration took action.
She stood by our National Guard and Reserve and kept standing until they received health care they deserved.
So now that almost every candidate is standing up for health care for all, which one do you think will never back down?
Hillary Clinton: “I’m Hillary Clinton and I approved this message.”
Tom Thomson, Anti-Tax Advocate, Endorses Romney
Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced that Tom Thomson has endorsed his candidacy for President of the United States. Mr. Thomson is a widely respected small business owner, anti-tax advocate, and son of the late New Hampshire Governor Mel Thomson Jr., who's "Ax the Tax" platform inspired future state and national candidates to take a pledge against raising taxes.
"I'm pleased to have the endorsement of this great businessman, tax opponent, and New Hampshire favorite son Tom Thomson. I look forward to working with him to reach out to fiscal conservatives and small business owners throughout the Granite State," said Governor Romney.

Romney Gets Testy With Iraq Exchange
The voter was asking a question on the cost of the war in Iraq and it's connection with a balanced budget.
Romney abruptly cut him off and said "The War in Iraq is about the cost of live, not money."
Mitt Romney Lays Out Tax Differences With Rudy
-need a line-item veto
-as Mayor, Rudy fought line-item veto and he won, because he won he killed the line-item veto
-When Mayor Rudy was mayor they had a commuter tax, Republican Governor fought to get rid of it but Rudy Giuliani sued the Republican Governor to keep the communter tax
-When I was Governor I made communter expenses tax deductible
-I lowered taxes on communters, I didn’t fight to keep taxes up.
Rudy's Economic Message Day Two
RUDY MAKES ¢ENTS DAY TWO:
Mayor Giuliani Streamlined City Government
"Plan To Keep America Strong"

-solve immigration
-protect legal immigration, end illegal

Romney wants to:
-Make the Bush tax cuts permanent

-Eliminate the death tax
-Cut the corporate tax rate
-Opposing raising Social Security tax
-Maked medical expenses tax deductible.

Cosmo Goes on The Road
Tomorrow, I'll be taking "New Hampshire Presidential Watch" on the road.
For the first-time this season, I'll be "live blogging" a campaign event.

Depending how it goes, I might even post photos of the event, during the event. Which will be a giant leap towards the 21st Century.
Granite Staters For Medical Pot Attack McCain
At a Derry town hall forum, McCain said "Well first of all you'll have to show me a case where people are going in and arresting people who are dead and dying. You'll have to document that for me because I haven't heard of such a case, nor has anyone that I know of heard of such case, so it must be a very well-kept secret."
In a press release, Stuart Cooper, the campaign manager of the Granite Staters for Medical Marijuana, said "I've personally handed Senator McCain the evidence he claimed didn't exist."
He went on to add that "If the senator's staff knows how to use Google, they should have no trouble learning about this 'well-kept secret."
The press release also added that Macia "was shocked and hurt by McCain's condescending tone. And while I spoke, I could feel his negativity toward me and the subject I was talking about."
In response to the group's press release, John McCain's New Hampshire Communications Director, Barry Flynn, wrote to us that "Senator McCain values the importance of town hall meetings where issues, like this one, can be raised and discussed openly, but he does not support the use of medical marijuana because the medical community and the preponderance of the medical profession in America does not agree it is the most effective way of treating pain."
Here is the exchange between McCain and Macia:
Rudy Launches New Radio Ad
The ad, titled "Tested," "focuses on Rudy Giuliani's proven record of results, and his commitment to keep America on offense in the Terrorist's War on Us and to grow the economy by cutting taxes and reducing the size of government."

RUDY: "There are two big things at stake for the country… what direction we go in on terrorism and what direction we go in with regard to our domestic economy. If you elect me we're on offense against terrorism. And I want us to be on the offense for a growth economy in which we lower taxes, reduce the size of government… that's how you create growth. "
VO: Principle. Experience. Results. That's Rudy.
RUDY: "We laid out a very, very specific set of goals that we want to achieve because I want people to look at those and say if I agree with most of them, then this is a person who can bring them about. And if they disagree with it, they should vote against me, because I am going to bring it about.

NewsMax/Zogby: Clinton Continues To Dominate Dems
"New York Sen. Hillary Clinton has extended her lead in the race for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in New Hampshire, capturing 38% support as the contest enters the crucial fall phase, a new NewsMax/Zogby International telephone poll shows.
Illinois Sen. Barack Obama has slipped slightly but retains a strong grasp on second place with 23% support, while former senator John Edwards of North Carolina faded to 12%, the survey shows. Ten percent said they remain unsure about who to support in the race."
An interesting tidbit, "Obama leads among likely Democratic primary voters under age 30 with 38%, compared to 30% for Clinton. The two are closely matched among those age 30–49, but Clinton holds a strong advantage among those over 50. Among those age 50–64, she holds a 45% to 18% edge over Obama, with Edwards at 17%, and she wins among those age 65 and older, 45% to 14% for Obama."
Here are the poll results:
Clinton: 38%
Obama: 23%
Edwards: 12%
Richardson: 8%
Kucinich: 3%
Biden: 2%
Dodd: 2%
Gravel <1%
Not Sure: 10%
NH Poll: Romney's NH Lead Falls Apart
"A new NewsMax/Zogby survey shows the Mitt Romney lead in New Hampshire that looked almost insurmountable this summer has blown away with the autumn breezes, turning the state’s Republican nomination race into a cliffhanger featuring a clash of styles and substance.
Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, still leads in the Granite State, but his lead is anything but rock solid, the NewsMax/Zogby poll of likely Republican primary voters shows. He wins 24% support, barely leading over former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has the support of 21%. Arizona Sen. John McCain, once on political life support here, has recovered nicely and wins 16% support, while former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, who gave up a successful Hollywood career to enter the race last month, wins just 7%."
Here are the results:
Romney: 24%
Giuliani: 21%
McCain: 16%
Thompson: 7%
Huckabee: 5%
Paul: 3%
Tancredo: 3%
Hunter: 1%
Brownback: 1%
Hagel: 1%
Not sure: 17%

Hillary To Visit NH From October 10th-11th

Obama Releases Documentary on Iraq War and it's Effect on NH
The documentary coincides with the fifth anniversary of Obama speech opposing the Iraq War.
The nine minute film is titled "New Hampshire at War" and features former military personnel discussing the Iraq War.
Here is the documentary:
Hillary's "Aura of Inevitability"
Webster’s defines inevitable as “not able to be avoided or prevented.”
At the beginning of October, some pundits now use “inevitable” to describe the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. That is, her ascendancy to the party’s nomination, and perhaps even the White House, cannot be prevented.
Certainly, if you attend any of her events you witness a top-notch campaign that is operating at a level that other campaigns, both Democratic and Republican, will never be able to match.
In fact, some might subscribe to the theory that the Clinton campaign has been able to create an "aura of inevitability." No matter what Obama or anyone else does, the Hillary machine will keep on rolling.
For us simpletons, it might be easier to compare Clinton to the New England Patriots. The Pats seem to be unstoppable with a combination of Brady/Moss and Belicki’s defensive schemes the other teams mind as well sit home and play Madden.
Yet, the wrench is all of this are the other Democratic candidates.
What if Obama starts closing Hillary’s lead? What if Edwards wins in Iowa or Clinton falters in the Granite State? The “what ifs” go on forever and are unpredictable.
Another sports metaphor. The Mets were deemed to by playoff bound in June. Now, there’ll be watching the games from the couch.
Four months from now will we be comparing Hillary to the dreadful Mets or will her “aura of inevitability” be too much to overcome?

"As a community organizer working with families, as the son of a single mother, and now as the father of two young daughters, he knows from personal experience that it's not enough to encourage women to dream big—we have to give women the resources they need to achieve those dreams."

Paul Campaign Visited 12, 000 NH Homes
In addition to fundraising strength, the campaign also demonstrated strong boots-on-ground prowess, holding a rally and canvassing efforts in New Hampshire. On Saturday and Sunday, 29 members of the Paul Family were joined by hundreds of volunteers in a state wide door knocking effort that touched at least 12,000 Granite State households. The effort is believed to be the biggest two-day direct voter contact operation executed by a GOP candidate in New Hampshire this election cycle.
Obama Camp To Commemorate Obama's Iraq Speech
On October 2, 2002, as a candidate for U.S. Senate, Barack Obama stood up and opposed the war in Iraq before it began. On the five-year anniversary of that speech, his supporters in New Hampshire are planning a day of grassroots activities to show their support for Obama's early and consistent opposition to the war.
During morning drive time, supporters will hold visibility events at 11 roadside locations. And at viewing parties in the afternoon and evening, supporters will gather in 14 towns to watch a DVD prepared for the day. The disc contains clips from the 2002 speech and other instances of Obama's early opposition to the war, the full video of his speech outlining his plan to end the war, and a new video of New Hampshire veterans of the war in Iraq sharing why they support Obama to be the next Commander in Chief.
Canvassers going door to door in the afternoon will carry video clips of the speeches on handheld PDAs, so that they can share Obama's words with voters—right on their doorsteps.
The full content of the DVD will be available for viewing online tomorrow.

McCain Photos From Pinkerton Event
All The Photos Were Taken By Brian "Cosmo" Lawson:
Dartmouth CR's Host Ron Paul
Here is Mr. Boguslavsky's summary:
The Dartmouth chapter of the College Republicans hosted Congressman Ron Paul on Saturday, September 29th. Despite competing with the Dartmouth/UPenn football game, an outdoor fraternity party, and a beautiful afternoon, the event drew approximately 80 students. Dr. Paul discussed his views regarding foreign and domestic policy, and the importance of respecting the Constitution. He also took some questions on education, the Iraq War, and the state of his campaign. Students then surrounded the Congressman to ask questions, shake hands, and take pictures; interest was so great that Congressman Paul had to be escorted out of the room in order to make it to his next event.
Dartmouth students once again demonstrated their interest in the political process, and in personally interacting with the candidates. The enthusiasm and excitement generated by the Democratic debate and continued candidate visits will sustain a politically charged environment throughout the fall. At the same time, interest for candidates of both parties and of all ideologies reflects the student body's open mind and desire to hear all points of view.
The College Republicans and the entire campus are eager to welcome many candidates to Dartmouth this fall.

Free Press
Here is the part of the article that mentioned the site:
Joining in Information sources
In addition to being a free and unrestricted venue for diverse political opinions, political blogs are serving other functions for online users in New Hampshire. Nonpartisan blogs such as Brian Lawson's New Hampshire Presidential Watch are less about opinions and more about information. According to Spiliotes, Lawson's blog serves as a virtual "clearinghouse of information," listing details about the N.H. primary visits, office locations and campaign staff of Republican and Democratic candidates.
Lawson is a 23-year-old political science major at Saint Anselm College. He began the blog in August 2006 because of his interest in the New Hampshire primary and started receiving about 100 daily visits. He contacted local campaigns and was added to the press release lists. Today, his site receives more than 3,000 visits a day and is used by many as a reliable information resource.
"For me, I find politics really fascinating. Everyone should be involved. It's important for people to be a part of the process somehow," Lawson said.
