Photo is: ©Chris Fitzgerald/CandidatePhotos.com
Today, Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd visited the state for the tenth time. Events included house parties in Laconia, Barrington and Portsmouth.

What's right is redeploying our troops out of Iraq and out of that civil war." The Associated Press Phil Elliott has more:

Rudy: Dems Not Serious on Terrorism

Photo is: ©Chris Fitzgerald/CandidatePhotos.com

Rudy Giuliani, while delivering a speech to employees and their spouses at Peerless Insurance, accused the Democrats of not seriously considering the threat from foreign terrorist groups. Afterwards, while talking to reporters, Giuliani stated that his accusation was leveled particularly against Democratic candidate John Edwards.

Earlier in the day, the former New York Mayor spoke to New Hampshire Republicans at a breakfast in a hotel across the Connecticut River in White River Junction, and then crossed the river to speak to employees at Crown Point Cabinet in Claremont. In White River Junction Giuliani called the Senate immigration proposal a "hodgepodge" and said that "I've gone over this thing about four times. I'm a lawyer. I've actually written laws, argued cases. I'm having a hard time understanding this law." In addition to immigration, Giuliani advocated that the nation should take the offense in the fight against terrorism, rather than reacting to it.

Before getting on a bus at the last event, some young men presented him with baseballs and paper materials which they asked him to autograph. As he signed them, one of them asked him to write the numbers '9/11' on the baseballs. Giuliani politely declined.

The group also wrote that:

"We hereby agree that Mr. Giuliani is an American hero for his performance in the aftermath of 9-11, however his liberal record as Mayor, appointment of liberal judges, and the conduct of his personal life make it impossible for us to support his candidacy under any circumstances."

Purple Health Care Stickers Appear In Granite State

Photo is: Chris Fitzgerald/CandidatePhotos.com

Is New Hampshire red or blue? Actually, the question should also include the color purple during this primary season.

A common sight at candidate events are purple shirted activists handing out purple stickers. They represent New Hampshire For Health Care, a group that is conducting a campaign to raise awareness of the health care issue. The approach is simple and usually effective. They ask presidential candidates of either party to affix on their clothing a purple sticker which bears the message, 'I'm A Health Care Voter.'

So far, most of the candidates have complied with their request. Which means that when all of those news photographers start taking photos of the candidates, the stickers with the health care message are included in the photos. Whenever possible, the activists also position themselves--and their purple shirts with the health care message--in the crowds behind the candidates, ensuring that their message will be recorded by the media cameras aimed at the candidates. On other occasions, they hand out purple T-shirts to people in the audiences, especially those people seated in strategic locations, or more to the point, within view of media cameras.

Yesterday in Manchester, Newt Gingrich, the former speaker of the US House of Representatives, held a book signing event at Walmart. Emmanuel Falck, a purple shirted activist with NH For Health Care, waited in line to meet the speaker. When he reached the front, he presented Gingrich with a book to sign. Gingrich autographed the book. Falck then showed Gingrich the purple sticker and asked him to put it on. Gingrich looked it over with a curious expression and then stuck it on his jacket. The moment represented another successful outing for the folks at New Hampshire For Health Care.

Edwards Lays Out Plan For Rural Poor

Photo is: Chris Fitzgerald/CandidatePhotos.com

Yesterday, about 75 people gathered to hear John Edwards speak at the Earl Bourdon Senior Center, in Claremont. The stop was a part of a swing through western New Hampshire. At the three town hall forums, Edwards stressed his plans to help rural America and the economically disenfranchised. The 2004 Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee and former North Carolina Senator argued that increasing the minimum wage and promoting unions are solutions to helping ailing communities in the Granite State. In Claremont, Edwards urged the citizens to keep pressure on politicians because, "Rhetoric doesn't solve anything."
