Obama's Canvass By The Numbers

This afternoon Barack Obama's campaign released empirical evidence to back up their claim that the canvass was an impressive grassroots operation. Obama's state co-chair Ned Helms said that "In the more than 30 years that I've been involved in Presidential politics in New Hampshire, I've never seen a grassroots movement this strong, this early." Here are the canvass numbers:

Conditions at 9:00 AM: 47 degrees and raining
Precipitation on Saturday: 3.6 inches of rain
Participants: More than 550
Doors knocked: More than 13,000
Phone calls made: More than 1,000
Communities canvassed: Six (Manchester, Concord, Nashua, Keene, Portsmouth, and Hanover)
