Union-Leader Monopolizing Debates?

From The Union Leader:

"ABC News, WMUR-TV and the New Hampshire Union Leader will produce four live presidential candidate debates -- two in October 2007 and two in January 2008.

George Stephanopoulos, chief Washington correspondent and anchor of "This Week," will moderate the October 2007 debates. The Union Leader's senior political reporter, John DiStaso, and Scott Spradling, WMUR's political director, will also question the candidates.

The Republican debate will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, and the Democratic debate will be Sunday, Oct. 21, both in Manchester. The October debates will air nationwide as special editions of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

The January debates, also in Manchester, will be held the week before the New Hampshire primary. Detailed information on the dates, locations and formats of the January debates will be forthcoming."

This news comes on the heels of yesterday's article in The Politico. The article argued that Clinton and Obama might pick-and-chose which debates they want to participate in.

Hi I really enjoy your blog and read it all the time. I have started a blog from NH that focuses on energy, It’s Your Energy Policy NH. It is a new blog, but I will be updating it constantly with conversations with presidential candidates as they visit New Hampshire. I would be happy to add a link to your blog to my site, and would really appreciate it if you could link to mine. Thanks!
