Mass GOP Jumps To Rudy

Some of the most prominent Republicans in the Bay State are supporting either Rudy Giuliani or John McCain. Rudy's campaign released the following information:

"The team will be led by senior exploratory cmte adviser/ex-Gov. Paul Cellucci (R-MA), while state Sens. Richard Tisei, Bruce Tarr, and Michael Knapik will serve as co-chairs. Ex-MA GOP state cmte chair Brian Cresta will serve as eastern MA chair, and ex-state Senate Min. Leader Brian Lees will serve as western MA chair."

Supporters of Rudy argue that a conservative Republican, like Romney, would not benefit the GOP in Massachusetts. Also, under the Romney regime the GOP lost seats in the legislature.

The only Massachusetts state Republicans that Mr. Guiliani has are those who are extremely liberal on social issues. Former Mass. Senate minority leader, Senator Brian Lees' notorious action {calling for a vote for adjournment of the 2004 Mass. constitutional convention before taking a vote on whether or not to send a citizen's referendum defining marriage as a union of one man and one woman to the ballot} was harshly chastised by the Mass. Supreme Judicial Court. This was a huge victory for Gov. Romney and tradtional family advocates. Gov. Romney had requested the Mass. Supreme Judicial Court to decide on whether or not the state legislature had to OBEY THE CONSTITUTION and "MUST VOTE". Those few Mass. state Republicans who support Mr. Guiliani are those who rode roughshod over our constiution in favor of the homosexual agenda. These unprincipled Mass. state Republicans are a warning to the rest of the party of what we don't want to be. The special interest lobby cannot be allowed to own our state and federal representatives at risk of their constitutional duties and responsibilies. I won't be surprised is Mr. Guiliani soon disassociates himself from these losers.
