Romney Raises Big Bucks

Mitt Romney capped his presidential announcement tour with a $1 million fundraiser in Beantown. Romney told the crowd, "People say to me mine is a very liberal state. I say that's true; it's a pretty liberal state. There is also a commonsense, don't-spend-my-money-foolishly strain in Massachusetts. And that's why Massachusetts voters voted for Ronald Reagan both times he ran for president." According to the Romney camp, the event drew 600-800 supporters and raised a cool million. However, the Boston Globe reported that "e-mails circulating" among Massachusetts Republicans showed that Romney supporters "were trying hard to get people to the event by inviting them and their guests for free."
