While, Phil Elliott writes that Bettencourt "had been offered a paid position with the Romney campaign." His story is here: McCain supporter leaves campaign, asked for money
UPDATE: A Romney spokesperson has told us that "This is factually wrong. The campaign never offered him a job. The campaign never planned on offering him a job. We're not going to offer him a job."
UPDATE 2: Elliott also writes in the story "But in e-mails provided by the McCain campaign, Bettencourt, 23, said he had been offered a paid position with the Romney campaign and "they are on the hunt for conservatives."
As far as I am concerned, it's time to move on and no more updates will be posted on this story.
