US Congressman Dr. Ron Paul's rapidly increasing popularity was never more evident than on Saturday August 18th, after winning the Strafford County GOP's straw poll at their annual picnic with over 70% of the vote. Strafford County has one of the largest and most active GOP groups in the state of NH.

Paul delivered a short but inclusive speech of his positions on the war, taxes, education, and the role of government as outlined in the US Constitution as supporters cheered and applauded and waved signs after nearly every point.

Paul also garnered a win in Alabama that same morning with an amazing 81% of the vote.
Last week he finished a respectable third place with over 18% in the Illinois straw poll.

Earlier Saturday morning, Paul, who is very fit for his age, walked the mile-long route in the Londonderry NH Old Home Day parade.

On Sunday, he was cheered on by many supporters at the Hillsborough County GOP event while a plane with a banner that read "Ron Paul for President" circled in the sky above.

He is pictured here with a supporter who came to Strafford dressed as George Washington.
