On Friday, Michelle Obama discussed the challenges of being a working mother, well with a group of working mothers. Obama met the group of eleven mothers at Manchester’s Jane & The Beanstalk cafĂ© and covered a wide variety of issues.
“We’re all just barely keeping our heads above water,” she said referring to the balancing act between family and work.
In addition to keep pace with a hectic campaign schedule, the Vice President for Community and External Affairs for the University of Chicago Hospitals said “I still go to Target, I do my own shopping, I’m on the soccer fields and I’m struggling with a career.”
She added that is increasingly hard to rely on traditional support structures and argued that an Obama presidency is necessary for “fundamental change.”
“We need to fundamentally change the game, not just the players. The game is broken and it’s broken for all of us,” she said.
