Gardner versus Levin: The Ultimate Primary Death Match
Roger Simon is reporting that "Sen. Carl Levin, Democrat of Michigan, threatened Wednesday to hold Michigan’s presidential nominating contest on the same day as the New Hampshire primary in order to end New Hampshire’s "cockamamie" first-in-the nation role."
Secretary of State Bill Gardner told Simon, "I moved the filing period (when candidates can register to get their names on the ballot) up so it would end Nov. 2, so we could have a primary in early December if need be."
