This afternoon the Massachusetts Republican State Committee released a statement titled, "SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT GOV. ROMNEY'S RECORD FIGHTING CRIME"
The press release claims that violent crime and overall crime decreased under Romney's leadership.
The release states, "Under Gov. Romney, the violent crime rate in Massachusetts decreased by over 7% from a violent crime rater per 100,000 residents of 484.4 in 2002 to 447 in 2006."
The release lists Robert Willington, Executive Director of the Mass GOP, has the media contact.
This past weekend, Rudy Giuliani said that Romney"had an increase in murder and violent crime while he was governor."
At the time of this posting, we have been unable to reach Mr. Willington for comment on the press release.
