Starting today through mid-December, New Englanders (and those who love New England) can vote in Yankee Magazine’s inaugural New Hampshire presidential primary candidate cookie contest at www.YankeeMagazine.com/cookieprimary. To date, 13 official presidential candidates have submitted recipe entries.
The online poll will culminate on Friday, December 14, when a panel of food and political experts will convene at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester to cast their ballots for their favorite cookie. Culinary students at the university will bake the cookies for the judges’ tasting. The winner will be announced that day, a few weeks prior to New Hampshire’s actual primary date of January, 8, 2008, based on the combined results of the online poll and the judges’ voting.
Yankee Magazine, “New England’s Magazine,” and The Old Farmer’s Almanac are the flagship products of Yankee Publishing, one of the nation’s most successful independent, family-owned publishing companies. Yankee is based in the small town of Dublin, New Hampshire.
